help! What can I do with ground sirloin

...and what's on hand? I cannot think of anything that sounds even remotely good.

  • Do you have one of those El Paso burrito/taco kits on hand?  Burritos would be good. I wish I'd thawed my ground sirloin instead of chicken now...

    If not, what about burgers, hamburger steak patties with gravy, or meat loaf?

  • Wish I had the taco fixins' but it's looking more and more like meatloaf or hamburger steaks.
  • MMMM, meatloaf or hamburger steak sounds yummy. 

  • Easy salisbury steak.  Make patties, brown in pan.  Mix together can of cream of mushroom and some milk, pour over and let simmer about 20 minutes.

  • I made hamburger steaks and wasn't really happy with the outcome. I'm old school in that I like a little bit of fat in the meat I use for meatloaf and hamburger steaks...last night's had almost zero fat content so there was almost nothing left in the pan to use for gravy (which to me is the best part). I did the best I could with gravy.  If I had been lucky enough to have the taco kit on hand that would have been perfect. Since I have another frozen ground sirloin in the freezer I'll get all the fixings for tacos for the next time.
  • Aw, that sucks!  I thought ground sirloin had a fair amount of fat in it...
