I need some ideas to what to do with my front flower beds.

Re: what to put in a front flower bed???

  • I want to put some tulips. But other pretty flowers are lilys and iris'. Do you want tall or small??

  • I just put in some pansies.  They look really good and come in so many different sizes and colors.  Geraniums can withstand colder weather, too.
  • If you want something that's low maintainence and really colorful try portalucas. They look like a fiesta, seriously...all different extremely vibrant colors. They can take some abuse and they last until it gets really cold. In many cases they will come back next season. I'm not sure how early you can plant them, they aren't even out in stores yet, but they do quite well in extreme heat.  OH...and they are not tall, they are low lying flowers.
  • We are planning on doing knock-out roses.  They grow quickly, and they bloom 3 seasons out of the year.

I was going to suggest these too.  They get big and pretty, and they smell delicious.
