Is it vacation yet?

I think I need a little vent...
I've been mostly absent on the board because things have been nuts!! Last week, I hit a parked car and got into a fender-bender (not my fault) all in one day, and this week, my car overheated!!!
There was no damage to the parked car that I tapped (so lightly!!), but my bumper had a pre-existing large crack in it (was there when I bought the car), and I hit it just right, causing part of the bumper to FALL OFF, taking my turn signal light with it. Then on my way home from work, driving down a narrow side street, someone hit me driving in the opposite direction. No damage to my car, and minor to hers, but she was sure to get my insurance info and tell me that her husband is a lawyer (um, great lady.... This was your fault!!!).
So over the weekend my dad repaired the bumper/light for me. Then on Monday on my way home from work, my car overheated!!!! Luckily, I was just about home when it happened, and managed to get it to the mechanic. And then of course I had to get a rental to go to work yesterday. The mechanic replaced the antifreeze, but could find nothing wrong with it. My dad agreed that it could have been a fluke, so I got my car back last night, hoping it could at least hold out until my dad could take a better look at it for me.
Driving to work this morning - OVERHEATS AGAIN!!!! It turns out the problem is only happening when I go 50-60 MPH, so it was fine until I got onto a major road and had to accelerate. Tried to wait for it to cool down so I could make it (slowly) to work, but the temp gauge kept going all the way to hot every time I tried to drive. So I had to get towed. Luckily the nanny family understood, and the dad is staying home with the kids today.
Now the car is back at the shop and I'm just hoping he can fix it today so that I don't have to rent a car AGAIN, and that the repair (likely the thermostat) won't be too pricey.
I have next week off from work, and I cannot wait for the break!! If I could not have anymore vehicular disasters for awhile....that would be great. I need a break!!

Argh! That stinks. I am so sorry that happened (all in a week!) I hate car stuff and I hate driving too so I know your stress. I hope it gets figured out. Oh and this week is dragging for me too. I just want my vacation. It can not come soon enough!

Must be something in the air...I'm having a doozy of a week too and just want to go crawl in the bed with the covers over my head for a while!!
Hang in there...things eventually resolve themselves and get better..it can just be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes!
That sucks so much, i'm sorry! But look at it this way car stuff ususally happens in 3s and with 2 fender benders and and overheating car you should but almost out of the woods.
Things will get better!
KnS - I know that feeling all too well!! As the car started heating up again this morning, I was thinking "This isn't happening! I want to be in bed!"
