What should we do?

My parents are coming into town this weekend to visit.  We are planning to check out winterfest, but I'm wondering what else we should do.  I'm clueless about the fun things to do in the area on weekends.  Things in Milwaukee or surronding areas are fine too.  I just don't want everyone bored.  Our apartment is too small to hang out there too long.

Oh, and are there any good comedy clubs in the area for Saturday night?

Thanks girls!

Re: What should we do?

  • Comedy Sports downtown on First St is really funny. Or if your looking for something during the day Discovery World on the Lakefront is amazing DH and I  love going. The domes are nice to just go walk around and check out all the plants.
  • Winterfest should be nice since it won't be super cold out. Anything we do on the weekend usually involves DD so I don't think I'd be of much help.

There is a comedy club on State St. http://www.madisoncomedy.com/

Comedy Sports is lots of fun especially if you've had a drink or two.  ; )  Discovery World would be great.  MKE in general will have a lot more indoor stuff to see than MSN.

I'd probably walk down State Street one day and visit the shops along the way.  Check out the Overture Center and the art museum.  The veteran's museum is also really good and it's free.

We're pretty outdoorsy so we like hiking (though it could be muddy).  You can rent bikes at the Union and go along some of the lakeside paths.  The Arboretum also usually has some guided walks and stuff.

I also know that the Garden Expo hosted by Wisconsin Public Television is this weekend if that helps.

    Good luck!

  • my parents were in MKE last weekend and we ended up doing some really touristy things that were actually fun! We went to the Domes, Miller for a free brewery tour, Old World 3rd St to go shopping at The Spice House, a cheese shop and the sausage shop.
