Salma Hayek breast feeds a sick baby?!

This is a little werid to me. I think it's great that she wants to help out the sick and all but I don't know if I could BF another baby.

Re: Salma Hayek breast feeds a sick baby?!

  • My grandma says that she use to breastfeed some of her cousins babies when they were sick and she was still nursing her own kids. I've seen lots of hispanic women do this Well, lots of older hispanic women talk about nursing children besides their on at one point. Personally, I don't know if I would be comfortable but who knows.

  • This is so amazing....please tell me that if you were able to help a starving baby in any way possible you would.  I don't see anything wrong with it.  I feel so bad for the poor mom who is sitting there helpless while someone else is feeding her baby.  She must be so grateful for someone to step up and help her baby.
  • I saw her this morning talking about these women. How terrible for them they must feel so horrible not being able to feed their own baby!! I would do it if I were in her shoes!!

  • Really? I so don't think that's weird...I think it's selfless. I wouldn't be able to just sit there and see a starving or sick child and not want to help in some way. How thankful must that babies mother be to know that her child is getting THE best nutrients there is. I find is sick that the media is making such a big deal about this to tell you the truth.
  • i remember walking through the halls when I had Jordyn they had picutres hung promoting breastfeeding, it read that breast milk was the liquid gold!

my cousin had her daughter 9 days before Jordyn was born, and the couple of times Jordyn got sick she pumped and gave me her breastmilk, she made my daughter better...she tried a couple of times to put Jordyn to the bewbie but Jordyn would just not take that big ol' sucka!  hahahahaha! although i was all for it, for a quick second i was like an 11 year old giggling as she tried to get Jordyn to latch.. lol!

i think it's great that Salma did that, breast milk is just the best, what a selfless act of her!!

  • I think it's because people view nursing their own children as natural, but somebody else's children as perverse or sexual. But breastfeeding is the most --dare I say it-- intimate way to share love and nourishment with a child. Granted, I don't recommend that when you're on a playdate to whip out your boob for any of your friends' kids, but if you're on a UNICEF mission in Africa and the baby is starving, my God, imagine giving him just that bit of comfort!
