OMG I have ALWAYS wanted my sorority shirts made into a quilt. ha ha, as old as I am, I still wear some of them. I'm so impressed that they did this - is it hard or do they do this for others?!!?!?! he he
I didn't know you were an AOTT at AU - I have friends who were and the Pres of the ATL Pan alum chapter when I was the delegate there for years was an AOTT from AU along w/her daughter. Great people. I was on panhell at AU so I hung around almost all sororities.
Re: **jaimeCRN**
I still wear mine too. Sounds stupid but some of them have sentimental value to me. I was real involved with rush so I got to know all of the panhellenic girls real well. Last year I actually went back as a rush advisor- don't know if I will do that again.
You can do the quilts two way. You can quilt them yourself (takes forever) or you can cut them out and sew them together and take them to a quilt store to have them quilted. I absolutely love both of my quilts!!!
Here is a pic of my AOTT/Auburn quilt:
ha, Jaime, I'm rush advisor so I'm only involved w/them during rush. BUT that's when you REALLY get to know the girls. I LOVE my girls. It was rough on me but I'll do it again, but more mildly (less time there).
OMG, I would NEVER be able to do that (I don't think), do you have the pattern for that?!!?!? That thing freaking rocks!!!! Remember my shirts are from like 93-96!!!! ha ha I'm so old.
I wonder if my mom could do it as I don't think we have someone around here who could do that but I might have to search online............
:: runs off in jealousy:: he he
Thank you!!!! I am sure my mom has the pattern- I know she made it and she doesn't usually throw things away. I will ask her to see if she can round it up. I know there was a place in Auburn where they would actually quilt it for you b/c I used to go there with my mom when she was in town. I wish I remembered the name!! I will try to remember!
How long have you been doing the advisor thing? My first time was last year and it was just so hectic! I also came in the middle of July so I missed out on a lot of the early stages. I had a good time getting to know the girls but the actual rush was just chaotic.
I'ts not Opelika sewing center is it?!?!!? But yeah, as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I really want to do this. I think it would be neat, he he.
I just started it last year but have been SUPER active in ZTA since graduation, in alumni world and advisory - I've been an advisor at FSU and Ga State too. If you have questions let me know. Oh and if you come over this summer we will SO have to get together!!!!
i am not sure if that is it or not but that sounds familiar. It has been so long since I have been there.
OMG, if I decide to do it again we will definately have to get together!!!! I would love that!!!!
I SERIOUSLY want to do this. Maybe we can try to do this over the summer and get together to do it. Not like we are that far from one another. And esp if your mom has the pattern or we figure out who it is here in AU.
Love ya girlie!!
