My brain is a little fuzzy right now, need some help. So we are waiting to hear about the "final" approval for the car at the end of the week. In light of what has happened to us do we still get the 4 dr (we were approved for a new Mazda 6 4dr) or do we take the 1K we were going to use as a down payment and take a much needed vacation? OR do we save it just in case we need to give a huge down payment for our next rental? ( We will be moving mid-end of August)
Here's what I think.
1) We will need the car anyway, it's not practical to have 2 convertibles
2) DH and I really need time to reconnect with each other after what has happened, so a vacation would be wonderful
3) DH's company has been laying people off left and right. Taking a vacation right now prob. is not responsible no matter how much we need it.
4) Even if we get the car we may still be able to save for the rental, it just depends on what the owner is expecting, however it is entirely possible that we won't have enough saved in just 6 months.
I'm leaning more toward getting the car anyway but am worried about the rental situation. WWYD?
I'm at home...just thinking my life away. ![]()
Re: What to do?
Here's what I would do, in order:
1. Get the car
2. Save for rental....just make sure to put it away and don't touch it!
3. vacation
Ditto what Val said.
Also, insurance premiums on a 4 door sedan are supposed to be lower than a convertible.
Same here. Have a little get-away, but keep it simple.
I think you should go for the car. You'll need it sooner or later and now you can probably get a great deal. An it's one less thing to worry about later. We have a 6, and I love it. It's a great car. And than save for moving this summer.
Maybe try and take a few weekend getaways instead of one big vacation.
I'm so sorry honey.
I definitely think the car is #1.
I agree that weekend getaways are the best idea for now--- try a 2 or 3 day weekend and just get away from home- you'll be surprised how much it really helps! DH and I took off last week Friday evening and came back Sunday evening and just went to Palm Springs- it was SO nice to just get away, turn off the cell phones and stay away from chores for a weekend!
GL!
