What Is Everyone Doing For VDay?

Ethan has my mind working he is actually taking initiative and being romantic and trying to surprise me... that is totally new. Although I do admit he has come to me about 5 times in 48 hours asking questions - thus far i'm assuming we are going to Macaroni Grill (somewhere we havent been in a long while and one of my favorite places) and probably a movie because we havent been to one in over 6 weeks, maybe its been closer to 9 now... I can't even remember the last movie we saw in theatre now... hm.

Anyway I was just wondering what yall are doing?! If anything. We only do something because the 12th is his birthday, the 13th is our 26 month anniversary, the 14th is obviously VDay and the 15th we are having my mom and her boyfriend over. Vday weekend tends to be very busy for us,

we are not doing anything in particular.  S's bday is the 26th so there will be some special stuff coming up. We are going to a friends 40th birthday on Sat night.  I actually don't love the day (I got dumped 2 years in a row on vday-from 2 different people to boot)  I may do a card but nothing else.

We don't do anything major.  We always exchange cards and usually a small, inexpensive gift.  We also try to go out for dinner, but not anything crazy.

On Saturday we are leaving on our drive to PA to spend some time with C's parents, so we have reservations for Friday night at a seafood place we love - nice enough for me to justify getting a little dressed up, but not fancy enough to break the bank...just our speed for Vday

I'm hoping C will like her gift.... We both love hot drinks like hot chocolate with Bailey's or Irish coffee, and I happened to find a set of the glasses for them on clearance!

So I bought the glasses and a box of hot chocolate (we already have the Bailey's ) I think it will be right up C's alley to curl up with our Bailey's and hot cocoa in our fancy glasses - hopefully I am right!

We're not doing much.  We were planning a picnic at the botanical gardens but the weather isn't playing along, so N said she'll cook dinner for us.  She rarely cooks so its definitely something different.

we usually dont do anythign big for vday so when A's dad asked her if we could all go to the casino for some silly drawing (he's REALLY into the casino and the contests/drawings they have), she didnt think much of it and said yes. great - vday wtih 1,000+ old people in a smokey casino...probably eating at the buffet. 

dont get me wrong, i'm all for hanging out w/ FIL and these casino trips are a regular occurence for the S household but on our first married vday?? grrr. thats a big strike wifey.  i'm trying not to be too annoyed by it because Bubby (A's grandmother) already gave her a hard time and while they are playing poker, i'll be in the spa getting pampered. so, its not really all that bad...but don't tell andrea

We never usually do anything but this year we have reservations to a nice seafood restaurant in Boston. I wanted to do something nice since it's our first married V Day and it falls on a Saturday. I'm looking forward to a nice dinner together and a quiet low key night.

We don't really have anything planned during the day so I guess it will be a regular Saturday at home. We may go to a movie or something. At night we're doing our V-day tradition of dinner at Ruth's Chris where I plan to surprise J with a Tiffany&Co. necklace that she's wanted for a really long time. I'm sure she'll be super surprised since we've planned to only exchange cards this year. I kinda splurged on the gift but since its our first V-day married and she usually surprises me with nice gifts I wanted to get her something special. I really think she deserves it.

We are having a night outside. The new 10 acre property we just bought has a little pond way down in the back. So we are having a little campfire and we're going to set up our air mattress and the radio and some little torches. The weather seems to be cooperating as it will be like 76 for the high and only get down to maybe 56 for the low. So we are going to camp out without a tent under the stars. Of course it is WAY convenient as we just have to walk back to the house if we need anything! I found some fun little adult games that I thought we might try while enjoying the fire and having a cocktail...

Everyday with Sandy is like a romantic holiday anyway, so it's really easy to have a great time. Hope you all have fun with your honeys too!

c is actually working that night, so i'm not sure what we're doing. i got her a card and a hat for our hockey team (don't laugh, this is right up her alley and she's been saying she wanted a new one). i don't know what she's got up her sleeve, but it's usually something. if not i expect we'll spend some time snuggling on the couch. heh.

oh! and i forgot we're going to a hockey game tomorrow night, so i'm going to consider that part of the overall valentine's festivities, especially since c's working saturday night--and especially if we win!
