Nashville Nesties-Help Please :)

My DH and I are traveling to Nashville from Knoxville soon and are looking to book a room on Priceline.  We have both been to Nashville several times and normally stay at the Opryland Hotel or downtown, but we are on a smaller budget this trip.  Anyway the areas they have listed on Priceline are: Antioch-Smyrna, Brentwood, Downtown, Franklin, Hendersonville, Airport, Opryland, North Nashville, South Nashville, and West Nashville...can you tell me which of these areas would be the nicest?  If you don't mind would you list your preference from best areas to stay to worst?  Thank you ladies!

If you will be doing things mostly downtown, I'd say Downtown or West Nashville.  They Opryland area has a few other hotels besides its namesake, but you will drive everywhere. While Brentwood, Franklin, and Hendersonville are nice suburbs, they are just that, suburbs. (although don't get me wrong, they are nice and there are things to do) I would not stay near the airport unless air transportation is necessary. Also not in Antioch. It's also a suburb, and seguing into a bit of a rough area.

I think it would depend on what you plan on doing.

Brentwood, Franklin, Hendersonville are all suburbs, not sure you'd want to stay out there if you are doing something downtown.  I would do downtown or opryland if staying downtown also closer to knoxville so your trip home will be closer.

I live off West End, and there's lots of hotels near here & in the Midtown area. ?(It's all near Vandy). ?If you stay in this area there is LOTS to do, restaurants, bars, Centennial Park. ?If you stay downtown, there's lots of the touristy stuff, and I 100% avoid that at all costs, but if might be fun for you.
