Moving furniture

DH and I ordered a new living room set in October. We have been waiting for all the pieces to come in (just one ottoman left!) so we can pay the remaining balance and get it delivered (ya know... spent the tax refund before you had it since it was going to take 60+ days to come in anyways... we got a GREAT deal, didn't mean to buy so soon... but oh well).

So I come home from work tonight, and the old living room furniture is GONE! And it's not in the soon to be "man room" (where it was planned). I asked DH when he came home from the Rivermen game.

...yeah, him and his buddy moved the old furniture into the basement. I never looked there. But I was freaking out a little bit. The joke is on them, now they have to move the old furniture out of the basement. (All worth it for some laughs, according to DH.)

  • Hooray for the new furniture!

  • Okay... now we have a new dilema. DH asked the furniture store a few weeks ago about what pieces were in and which ones were not. Supposedlty at that time just one ottoman was missing.

This morning get a call... nope, the manufacter will not be making all the pieces we ordered as they ran out of frames. (Did they tell us this when we placed the order... nope!) So the store has a chair, same style, different fabric, at another store out of state and they can give it to us at cost.

But this means we'd have to re upholster the two chairs and 2 ottomans. Ugh. Luckily we can cancel the order if we want. We have to figure out how much upolstering the furniture so it all matches. Not really an expense I wanted with brand new furniture. We really like the manufacter (IL's have furniture from them, and it comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and 5 years on the fabric... better than most manufactuer's offer).
