This is dumb, but I could use some feedback
At my current job, I have every other Monday. I recently started volunteering at my Humane Society on the Mondays I don't work. I'm starting a new job in March and I will be working a standard five day week (boo!). I'm going to change my volunteer day to Sunday, but I can't decide if I want to do it every Sunday or just stick with every other week.
On the one hand, I like having days with nothing planned and I've been really spoiled by having three day weekends every other week for the past couple years. Saturday mornings are already booked because that's when I take my dogs to the dog park. Sundays will be the only days I have left to sleep in or have a whole day to do whatever I need. On the other hand, more often than not, when I have unlimited free time, I just waste it. Having somewhere that I need to be is one of the only things that can motivate me to get my day started at a decent hour. I could still be home by 11:30-12:00 every Sunday. Plus I really enjoy spending time at the Humane Society.
I need to email the volunteer coordinator to let her know I want to change my schedule. If you were in my shoes, do you think you would start out by working every other Sunday and see if you want to switch to every week? Or would you start out working every Sunday and see if it gets to be too much?
Re: WWYD?

Are you talking about HSHA?
I could be wrong, but I thought Sunday volunteer hours were something like 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., since the shelter is closed to the public that day.
Regardless, you can always up your hours in the future, so I say start out slow.
No, this is the Reading HS
I guess I'll start out with the every other week schedule. I'm a little concerned that if I change my mind later, they won't need me for the other Sunday. They only need two kennel assistants per day and they already have one on Sundays. Although I could still go in and walk the dogs
Thanks for the imput ladies!!
