Laundry detergent?

Which one do you gals use? Which softner?

Re: Laundry detergent?

  • Tide only. no softener.

Hubby is allrgic to everything else. And only bounce dryer sheets

  • Liquid Tide is my favorite for darks and nice clothes...I find that it doesn't fade clothes. I like Fab for DH's dirty smelly t-shirts and socks and the dog beds and towels. I don't use softener.
  • Ive been using Tide total care and love it except the price tag.. wher edo you ladies get yours
  • i found that walgreens is the cheapest. $8.99
  • All, the one in the white bottle without all the dyes and stuff. I get it at Sam's, lasts a long time since it's just the two of us LOL
  • I use the total care too with bleach, its great. Even with hubby's dirty work clothes. That Florida mud and the grease is hard to get out. It works wonders.
  • I usually buy my tide the 100ml when it's on sale at CVS and have coupons...I never buy detergent regular price, always stock up on that and toothpaste when on sale
  • I'll preface by saying that I have always used Tide and Downy, but  my clothes would get stained blue on occassion.  I tried different solutions, and nothing worked.  So, I switched to non-colored detergent.  What I use now is:

    Tide Pure Essentials, Lilac Scent
Downy Pure Essentials, White Lilac Scent

I used to buy them always at Costco, but when I switched brands, I had to go to Publix.  I just discovered BJ's stocks the ones I use... so I'll be there next time I'm low on detergent.

I too never buy them full price.  I always walk down that aisle just to see the price, even if I don't need it.  And pair it w/ a coupon...

FYI - dryer sheets release a chemical that causes allergies to the skin.  I used to use them, and have since stopped when I read the article.  I'll try to find it for you.

I had to switch to the powder b/c of that. My nice clothes had a couple of blue spots and it lasts longer i think b/c there isn't water mixed in with it. :) Use less with great results. (haha i sound like i'm selling it. sorry)

  • Really? wow i didn't know that. thanks.
  • I'm not picky on detergent...I hate to say we really work office jobs and dont get mud stains or dirt. They all smell good. I am using ALL I think it is or Gain right now.

Downy is a must and then I also add the dryer sheets.
