What's your favorite form of exercise?

Before we moved here, I used to inline skate every night, 12-15 miles a night. I have no idea where I can do that here, so I haven't been yet and am stuck to the gym.  Anyone else inline skate? Any ideas where a good place to do that is?

What's your favorite activity?

Re: What's your favorite form of exercise?

  • I doubt I can help much as far as your inline skating, but I've started to try to mix up my exercise routine.  I was stuck in a gym rut for a little while and became bored with it fairly quickly.  Lately I've been doing exercise videos at home, which I love because it's so efficient and effective and it prevents boredom.  The 30 Day Shred, which is pretty popular on these boards, has been a lot of fun and I'm trying to find more videos that challenge me further.
  • dang girl, i feel like i'm following you! i promise i'm not stalking you!

i've seen quite a few people inline on the boardwalks in  PB/MB, and along the bay in mission park.

  • I like to run.  I'm not fast or anything - I just really enjoy it.

I see people inline skating all the time when I run in Mission Bay park - check it out!

  • Guess I'm going to Mission Bay once this rain stops! It's really close to where I live!

  • I think even better than the MB/PB boardwalk  is around the bay at Crown Point...You can start at the end of Lamont st. in Pacific Beach and go around crown point, sail bay and back. I beleive it's a total of 7 miles, and personally I like it better than the boardwalk because it's alot less crowded! the boardwalk is about 4 miles roundtrip from Crystal Pier to the rollercoaster roundtrip.

  • Never been inline skating! :) I think I'd break an ankle, or worse, my neck! lol!

I do lots of tai chi... I know, makes me sound like I'm 105 years old but it is really fun and great exercise! :) Plus, it's really brutal without looking like it! heh...

I'm also looking for an adult ballet class. I'd love to get into that :)

I'll go running every now and then but my knees don't care for that too much

i took a tai chi class & really enjoyed it.  i should start doing that again.

  • I guess Im an odd one - i HATE running, HATE gyms, and overal hate to excercise.  I started taking ballet a couple years ago, so switch between that and ballroom.
  • Does shopping count? LOL

I inline skate. But DH is horrible, so I dont do it very often. I ran cross country in high school, so I love running. I need to lose some weight before I start distance running again though. I got really sick in college and gained almost 100lbs. I was finally diagnosed and had surgery and now things are getting better and I am loosing the weight. Hooray!

You should! :) I do tai chi through a kung fu school but there are tons of other places (probably a lot cheaper... lol)

  • So excited! I just found a netball club in San Diego :) I might have to go check them out at their practice tomorrow...

would be super fun to get to play again!
