Mattress

DH and I are going mattress shopping this afternoon.  We need a new mattress like yesterday.  Have any of you bought new mattresses lately?  If so what did you buy and where did you buy it?  I know this is a random question but my back and shoulders can't take sleeping on our mattress much longer Wink

Re: Mattress

  • The last time we got a new mattress was when we were in Australia, so I won't be much help with where to buy...we got a pillowtop mattress. It was amazing. It was soft, but supportive. Also, it didn't have springs. I miss that mattress. We got a nice Sealy (sp?) hand me down when we moved here from an extra bed in my parents' house. It's alright, but I miss our pillowtop. :(

  • The mattresses we have are pillow tops and I've put two down filled toppers on our bed and the guest bed. We may need a new one within a year or so though because my back is beginning to protest the mattress we are using. I would love to have a sleep number, but don't know if I can convince Bob that's what we need. One bit of advice I heard from experts is to try it out, lie on it for at least fifteen minutes before you make your decision.
  • My ultimate dream mattress is a sleep number.  But for now we have a pillow top and it's working well.
  • We just got a pillow top, and I am not crazy about it. Like everyone else I would like a sleep number, but just can t talk Lee into spending that kinda money on a matress.
  • We bought our mattress at Bedzzz Express.  It was about 5 years ago so I can't remember exactly what we paid for it, but it's a pillowtop queen and soooo comfortable.  If you like soft mattresses I would definitely recommend a pillowtop.
    Siggy coming soon....
  • the last 2 mattresses we bought were at sears. i want to say the prices was comparable. we got serta both times, and i have been pleased with both.
  • Thanks ladies!!!!!

  • We are saving up to buy a Tempur Pedic.  I know they are pricey, but I've got huge back problems, so it's worth it to me to invest in that.
  • We use the mattress that I got a few years ago because I just can't part with it. It's called memory foam. It's not a pillowtop and it doesn't have springs. It actually reminds me of temper pedic but I think it's actually a little firmer. We got a temper pedic a few months ago and then ended up giving it to his mother because after I slept on it for about a month I decided that I couldn't handle it anymore so we went back to our old bed. The temper pedic seemed to hurt my back and legs, don't ask me why!
