restaurant ideas please!

For Valentines day, we are trying to find somewhere to go for dinner.  Since we are still new to the area we dont really know of any good restaurants around us, especially since we eat in more often than not.  What are some good valentines day places to eat (they dont have to be having a special or anything), somewhere it will be nice, but not super expensive? Thanks!

Re: restaurant ideas please!

  • What part of Los Angeles?
  • we're willing to travel a bit, but preferably somewhere closer to whittier.  I think the furthest we'd be willing to drive for this would be Santa Monica-Hollywood area.  We would go up there, but probably not further north.
  • Oops I think most restaurants at this point have a pricey fixed menu.  What area?
  • see my above post for the area, and i suppose even if you know they would be a bit pricey for vday, thats fine. At least i can look into them and see what it is or where they are. Or if they even have an opening.
  • Here are some Valentine's type restaurants that I can recommend

    Hatfields

    Craft

    AOC

    Animal

    Grace

    Jiraffe

    Violet

They're all sort in the same area - Century City/Mid Wilshire - Jiraffe and Violet are in Santa Monica.

  • Last year DH (fiancee at the time) took me to Yamishiro's. I love that place and the view is spectacular. They have a menu on line you can check out.

Make sure to look at a place that makes reservations, the wait times can be all night on a holiday like this..... just an FYI
