For Valentines day, we are trying to find somewhere to go for dinner.
Since we are still new to the area we dont really know of any good
restaurants around us, especially since we eat in more often than not.
What are some good valentines day places to eat (they dont have to be
having a special or anything), somewhere it will be nice, but not super
expensive? Thanks!
Oh, and we live in Whittier. We are willing to travel a bit, but i think the furthest we would go would be around 30mi.
Re: restaurant help please!
I don't have any suggestions for your area, but the sad truth is that you're highly unlikely to be able to book a great meal the day before Valentine's Day.
?
hit up the local grocery store and make dinner at home. light candles, put on some barry white, and end with chocolate fondue.
bow chicka bow wow.
Well Weemo very well may be right...but since I'm from Whittier originally I will suggest some places that I have been for date nights and just regular eat out places:
Uptown Kabob~ um, its in uptown..lol and the menu is yummy and the owners are REALLY nice ans welcoming. The decor is a bit rundown but dont let it deter you the meat is fresh and sometimes there are belly dancers ( lol..if thats your thing) ...they probably have a package going on for V day but not 100% sure havent been there in a while.
Cat in the Custard Cup~ This is technically in La Habra, I think and I have had some REALLY good dining experiences here. They have a small but cute bar area with a fireplace and piano player if you cant get in for food maybe just get in for drinks/dessert. I have always liked this place because service is really good as is the ambiance!
Cafe El Cholo~ now, this is not really a *fancy* date place but the food is YUMMY if you like mexican food!
Lascari's ~ This is a very good Italian food plce that is not really fancy, but very good. You can anything from chicken parmesean to an abc sub....this is a must try.
If you choose to venture out into Brea there is : Taps ( fish house and brewery), La Vie en Rose ( french Food), Cheesecake Factory, and Bj's...
I am sure that I forgot something...but this was just off the top of my head. Have fun!

Ah! Good call!
I bet you could still find places with the way the economy is going - I'm sure many people are going to stay in this year.
my recs, might not be uber-romantic though:
roman cucina in sunset beach
the lobster in santa monica (might be crowded)
uh, my mind goes blank after these two. and I've never been to whittier so I'm no help for anything super close.
