i love my fish.

he's so calming just swimming around on my desk. he's a betta so he can't have many friends, but i had a snail that he did well with before. well, the snail died a while ago and i was really missing it. it was so cool to watch it crawl around, and i have a big enough tank for a buddy or two. so today on my lunch break i went and got my betta some friends! a new snail and a pleco, since they're supposed to do okay with him. i also got a new little decoration (a sea turtle). so far so good!

Big Smile

Re: i love my fish.

  • How cute! Fish are very soothing.
  • Aw take pictures! lol

I have a 30 gallon in our livingroom with a 7 inch pleco., a silver barb (whopping 4inches now!) a red tail shark (2.5 inches now, will be about 6inches at full adult size), a Black Banded Leporinus (1.5 inches now, expected to grow to 11 to 12 inches by adult age), a cat fish (1.5 inches will be 8 inches at full adult size).

Obviously I will be buying a 60 gallon tank next year to be able to maintain these fishies. lol.

I have another 30 gallon in our storage shed, and a 10 gallon on our end table awaiting a filter, water, light, and heater (whenever I get money) Then it will become home to 3 angel fish and a baby pleco. :)

Oh I also have a 5 gallon in my closet... I want to put 2 gold fish in it and leave it on top one of the 2 bookcases in the livingroom - because gold fish require their own filtration system... and even though they get along with others the amonia in there feces is a death sentence to almost all others...

Sorry I love fish... one of the things my father instilled in me :)

Thanks for sharing, aren't betas fascinating? My kitties find them to be too much fun so I can't keep them around - the kitties play with the aquariums and the betas puff up and flip out, ultimatley (I believe) going into heart failure lol. :)

Ok, so go take pictures! Now I wanna see your beta and its new friends! :D

  • awww, thats great :) pets of all shapes and sizes are awesome!
  • I think you need to post a picture :-)
