Anyone know where I can get German Chocolate Cake?
Preferably in the La Jolla area. Even better, if they sell it by the slice! TIA!
Re: Anyone know where I can get German Chocolate Cake?
Hmmm...Betty Crocker? just kidding-that's the only German Chocolate cake I've had!
I don't know a ton fo bakeries in SD, as our wedding was in northern Ca. I know the French Gourmet is a great bakery/pastry place in North PB, but not sure if they would have it. You might want to ask the girls on the SD knot? I'm sure they're familiar with local bakeries!
Learning to start all over again... Blog
I wonder if Michele Coulon does that? OMG her stuff is amazing! So worth the $8 a slice price tag!
The gateau Aileen (I think that's what it's called... some fruit thing) = better than sex! OK, so maybe not but it's definitely a close second
The bakery is right in La Jolla near the super-duper car dealership (Maserati, etc). I couldn't tell you the street names, sorry!
Here's the website
Edelweiss Bakery in Mira Mesa and Rancho Bernardo. The closest one to you will be the Mira Mesa location. They are a German Bakery and specialize in german style baked goods. I cannot remember if they sell it in a mini-cake. They do have an apple cake that is just awesome.

Ack! I've lived in Scripps Ranch for 4 years and never knew there was an Edelweiss in Mira Mesa! Yeay! I used to live in RB and went to that one quite often.
Off to figure out exactly where it is...
lol - small things excite me
Yes, here! They do sell by the slice.
Ooh, I just looked on their site and they have all the stuff I grew up on in Europe!! Guess where I'm going tomorrow??
Enjoy! We used to live by the one in Rancho Bernardo and would walk there for breakfast...very yummy stuff there.
Get there early since the apple struedel tends to go really fast!
I had no idea either! I am sooooo excited. Can we eat there. I feel a GTG coming on
