Did you keep your wedding dress?

I still have mine, but only because I want to do TTD pics and will be getting rid of it as soon as those are done. I don't plan on selling it or preserving it, so it will be either donated if I can find a place to donate it to, or thrown out. How about you?

Re: Did you keep your wedding dress?

  • I ended up preserving mine.  I loved it so much (not to mention, paid beaucoup bucks) that I couldn't see myself parting with it!
  • I kept it, and had it boxed up and its sitting at my parents house. I absolutely loved my wedding gown, and it was shocking price tag so part of me wants to sell it, but it was a gift from my mom, so I don't want to sell it and keep the $$, and she doesn't want me to sell it. I think I'll keep it in the family-it's pretty classic so maybe my neice will want to wear it someday? My cousin wore the wedding gown that was worn by both her mom and her mom's sister, which was kinda of neat!

  • i loved my dress, so i kept it.
  • What is TTD?

I kept my dress! Maybe my daughters can use it some day and  because I could not part with it and my mom bought it.  But there are some places that will buy your dress and resale it.

  • TTD=trash the dress

  • Yup, had mine preserved and now it's in a box under the bed. I actually almost forgot it when we were evacuated for the fires in 07... oops! ;)

There is a program where you can donate it for a breast cancer charity. I never know what it's called but you could google it.

Also, there's a thing where you can donate old prom/formal dresses to low-income women. I wonder if they take wedding dresses, too. Don't know the name of that one, either..!

  • Im a bad bride....it got so dirty the day of the wedding, and then we did our TTD shoot and I still havent gotten it cleaned!!  its sitting in my closet, dirty.

but out TTD pics came out good!

  • I preserved mine, I like it to much to do anything else with it.  I know it will just sit in the box but that's what I want.
  • I didn't keep mine. I sold it.  We didn't have the room for it, or storage..
  • Yes, mine is in a box in the closet! Ive been wanting to do a TTD session, but I havent had the time or money yet. One day!
  • Mine is buried somewhere in the depths of hell...also known as the spare bedroom at my moms!  I think that there are wedding shower gifts piled on top of it.

Im keeping mine.  I need to get it cleaned and I want to redo some of our wedding photos since most of our outdoor shots didnt get done due to the wind.  Once I get it preserved I would like to shadow box it.  I love the back of the dress and I want to display it...but im weird like that.

  • Mine is in its bag at my parents house...not cleaned. I am not attached to it, but I dont want to get rid of it either.
  • Mine is in a air tight bag not cleaned. But I wish I could sell it. I guess I am just lazy.
