Does anyone have any experience with changing you name after you have changed it after marriage? What I mean is when I got married I took my husband's name. But at work I want to keep using my maiden name. Well, that is a problem. My records only list my legal name so to use my maiden name I always have to jump through hoops. So I was thinking maybe I can hyphenate. But to do that I need to change my legal name and do everything over again. The question is, is it as simple as going to the SS again and get a new card or do I need to go to the court to do this? Anybody have any advice?
Re: name change again?
Aren't you at OHSU? Anyway, I did the same thing. I changed my name but use my maiden name at work. Every time I work with the Benefits office, payroll, need a reimbursement etc it is annoying. I always do First Maiden (Married) on the paperwork, to kinda clear up the mud.
I am not sure how you would hcange your name besides a marriage/divorce. Good luck. I hate paperwork!
