Okay, so I own the copyrights to my all my wedding photos and DH and I have been redoing our living room, so I wanted to get some new prints. I also had some family pictures to get, so I used the kiosk thingy and thought all was well. (I have done this before with no problem.)
The guy at the counter wouldn't sell me the majority of my pictures, because they 'look like professional photos'. The funny thing is, some were, but some ?he didn't want to give me were not pro pics at all! They were taken by guests! :-P?
Anyhow, he told me I could have them if I showed him a release from my photographer, after I explained I own the rights to the photos.
I came home to find the old paperwork to go back and get them.....and naturally I can't find it ANYWHERE. I know I kept it, and if I showed them I could go on with printing, but the darn thing has vanished. Bah.
I know he was just being careful about copyright laws, but I didn't bring it with me because I had not been asked that before (I guess the people before didn't care).
Sigh. I would rather not have to contact my photographer when I know that piece of paper is somewhere...I just can't figure out where...
Re: Thanks, a lot, Wal Mart
I would contact your photographer. Being a photographer myself, all I have to do is e-mail my clients a pdf file to print... It's no big deal. I also put the release on their disc, so that it can be viewed when my clients take the disc to be printed.
See if your photograher will give you another release. Good Luck!
