***JTB2004***

Hey Jill!  I sent you a message on facebook about a house for sale in my development.  I think you might like this place.  : )

Re: ***JTB2004***

  • I think I know which one you're talking about.  Our realtor showed it to us last week, and it's a serious contender.  Definitely needed some updating (i.e., 90s wallpaper, formica counters), but I really liked the space and the yard.  The decorating reminded me a little of your MIL.  Wonder if they were friends?!
  • Yeah I did notice the wallpaper.  I really think that looks like a great place.  I liked the patio in the back too.  Well if you ever buy a place with lots of wallpaper, I know a good painter who can remove it all for a great price.  Good luck with your search.
  • LOL about them being friends.  Actually, Erik knows the people that live there...he was good friends with their son.
  • Did all the super sleuths who also read this post already find the listing (i.e., Denise!)?  Wink
  • They actually have a blog site for this house with all kinds of pics.  Did you see it?
  • Lesli....couple of questions for you.  My dad says the HOA there is a little strict (he knew a guy that wanted to build a brick mailbox, and they wouldn't let him).  Do you know if they allow swingsets and stuff like that in the backyard?  Also, is there a park associated with that neighborhood down by the creek or anything?
  • Yep, I've seen the blog.  Have it bookmarked right now since this house is my newest obsession!  :)
  • Well the HOA likes things to be uniform in the development and I understand that.  They do like everyone to have the same type mailbox and I know someone got in trouble for building a brick one.  I also know that another couple put up some god awful shed that looks like crap in their backyard.  They are in some HUGE fight about this...going to court and everything.  The couple send letters to all of us in the development all the time asking for help.  I never had any issues with them at all and I know my IL's never did either in the 15 years they lived here.  Yes you can have swing sets...I see lots of people with them.  As long as you aren't trashing your yard they won't bother you one bit. They have nice things for the kids in the neighborhood...ice cream socials, easter egg hunts, etc.  I don't know of any park by the creek though.  : (  I really do enjoy this neighborhood.
  • Thanks, Lesli!  I couldn't remember if I had seen any swingsets, so I wanted to make sure that kind of thing is allowed.  I personally like things a little more uniform, too...but if we couldn't have a swingset, that definitely wouldn't be the right place for us.  That's nice they do stuff for kids, too.  That's definitely a positive in my book!
  • Oooh Lesli is this the house that Erik was talking about on the way to Philly?  I want to see the blog too!!
