I am kind of lost...
So getting all dressed up is not my strong point. I am attending DH's college reunion banquet in a couple of weeks and the theme is The Academy Awards (colors: red, black & gold). I am wondering if you ladies can give me some idea as to what to wear. Is it a long dress, short dress, etc. I love watching the Red carpet stuff but not so gung ho about showing too much skin. Pictures and ideas would be extremely helpful. TIA

If the theme is "Academy Awards" I'd guess the dress code would be formal. You could wear a long gown, maybe with a little bolero jacket so you aren't too exposed. If you think wearing a full-length gown is just too mcuh, you could do a below-the-knee length black cocktail dress --something really Audrey Hepburn-- with some sexy heels and really fabulous costume jewelry. Drape a colored pashmina over your elbows and ta-da! you are fabbo...

Wow, sounds like a nice formal gtg.
Well, my first thought was looking thru any bridesmaid dresses that would fit this occassion. Do you have any? In my closet, I have plenty and some worth wearing again.
