Help me plan a romantic weekend in Chicago!

My DH is coming home from Iraq for 2 weeks (YAY!), and my parents have offered to watch our kids so we can have a weekend to ourselves! I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions for places to go, things to do, etc. I would especially love to hear about your fave romantic restaurants. DH is ready to enjoy a nice dinner!

Thanks!

Vanessa

  • You could plan dinner and a show.  Ever been to Lawry's Prime Rib?  Ohio and Michigan I believe.  Very nice and only place to get PR.  Just a thought.  Otherwise there are just so many restaurants that my mind is overloaded to recommend just one.
  • i have a list of my favorites in my bio...    for romantic, i think of MK and Sepia, in particular.   and then maybe drinks atop the Hancock.

    enjoy your time together!

  • For romance, I think Geja's is the way to go for a restaurant. ?Fabulous food, cozy atmosphere.

  • There are so many good restaurants, it's hard to name just a few.  If you like steak, I love Custom House in the Printer's Row area.  If you're adventurous, try Blackbird just south of the loop.  For drinks, the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock is fabulous.  Frontera Grill is famous for Rick Bayless's fancy Mexican.

If you want to be near the theater district, the Burnham Hotel is a nice place to stay, and its restaurant, the Atwood Cafe, is fantastic for brunch.  It's  where my parents stay when they're in town.

Up in the Magnificent Mile, near the best shopping, I like the Sofitel and the Hyatt.
