S and I are meeting with our first daycare provider tomorrow. I need a list of questions. What would you ask?

Re: need help
What's the child/caretaker ratio?
What breaks/holidays are they closed?
Do they provide the food and what do they feed?
What's the baby room schedule? (set nap times, feed times, etc)
Can you provide your own bedding?
If this is the home daycare you talked about, I would ask about vacation/time-off/sick policy. Such as - if you don't need to bring the baby X amount of days, do you have to pay for them all, or are you allowed a number of days per year that you can not bring the baby and not pay. Or what the provider's policy is in the event that s/he is sick and needs a day off - that sort of thing. I mention this because my mom has a home daycare and I know she has very specific policies about this sort of thing.
Again if this is the home daycare, ask if they're certified by the state, and how many children they are approved for.
I'd ask what kind of activities she does with the older children and how the babies fit into that - how a typical day goes.
sahm ~ toddler breastfeeder ~ cloth diaperer ~ baby wearer
weather conditions- close early/open late?
injury/incident reporting?
discipline policy?
how often they wash sheets/toys/etc?
here's a great resource with a ton more questions as well: http://211childcare.org/ccparentresources.asp

As always, great suggestions from pps. I don't know if you are planning on breastfeeding or cloth diapering but if you are check on their policies regarding both.
Let us know how it goes :-)
All great suggestions from pp's. Best of luck today!
