good pcp news

No real big news here, but I'm home alone and anxious to talk about it!! (And I know you guys understand Smile)

I went this morning to my midwife group for my annual pap, and to ask a couple of questions about our TTC plans (this is in the same office as the AICGB where plan to do our IUIs).

My appointment was actually with the woman who founded the AICGB, which was very cool.  She was very very nice and I liked her much more than the midwife I had seen at a different office last year.

From my past symptoms and medical history, I seemed like I might have endometriosis (though never diagnosed), which I was a little worried about for TTC - but today, after checking a few things in my exam, the midwife deemed that I am missing a couple key symptoms and therefore very unlikely have endo (something about how excellent my uterus and ovaries feel! hooray for excellent!), which is great!  She said if we try for 3 months+ and don't get pregnant, then I'll want to do an HSG to be sure, but she feels it's unneccessary now.

I also asked her for a second opinion on when to stop taking my birth control pills (the other midwife said I could wait until the last minute to stop - I'm on them to prevent very severe PMS pain/illness).  She said to stop 2-3 months before we start TTC, and that it's likely to take a few months for my severe symptoms to return, so we could get really lucky and get pregnant before my horrible PMS comes back.  Crossing my fingers on that one!

So in about 3-4 months, I'll stop taking my pills and schedule our IUI consult!!  We're getting there!
