i'm breaking into this monday veeerrry slowly - weekends are just never long enough for me.
So, whats the weekend recap? Fun plans with friends/loved ones? productive days? hours of pjs and lounging?
Re: Happy Monday!
We had a great weekend! On Saturday we finally explored a couple of neighborhoods that we've been meaning to check out literally since we moved here 2 years ago, and had lots of fun poking in little shops. Then that night we went to a Thai restaurant we found close to home that we hadn't tried, and it was great.
Then on Sunday we had a lazy lazy day.
We also finished watching the John Adams series that we borrowed from C's parents - which was excellent!

Well, we worked our butts off yet again on the house and property. AND we were able to finally bring over our dogs to live with us again. Until we got the yard under control and the fencing all straightened out, they were living with a friend. We sure missed our babies!
So it was a highly productive, but exhausting weekend. But we fell asleep Sunday night feeling a great sense of accomplishment! It's really starting to look nice! Yeah!

c worked friday night and we had the iui on satuday morning. she went to bed after the appointment, and by the time she got up i was a horrible grump for no apparent reason. it sucked. my sister came over to help with drywall in the bathroom so we can paint (hopefully by next weekend) and fell off of a short ladder. she sprained her ankle and is on crutches and i feel really bad. we did go out to dinner and to a hockey game with some friends which was fun, although we lost.
yesterday we slept in and cuddled, then went to a sporting goods store because c had a rewards thing she had to use by the end of the month. she found a new coat on clearance that she really likes, and it fits her better than most of her other winter gear. we also went to the grocery, and then came home and made meatballs for our dinner tonight. they've been simmering away and are so good, and it was fun just hanging out together.
after having the week off it is super hard to get back into the swing of things this week.
I have no memory of what I did friday night (out to dinner maybe???)
We spent the rest of the weekend with my inlaws. Sat I went to yoga in the am which was great. Stopped at the apple store to pick up a b-day present for my nephew. I was hungry so I got a quiche (bid mistake) I spent the rest of the day feeling horrible. The ride to NH was terrible and I had to will myself not to hurl the whole time. I spent the rest of the day on my mil's couch. I was supposed to babysit my niece and nephew (with Sue ) and take them to a hockey game. I didn't feel up to it so my fil went with them and my mil and I played scrabble and hung out. Sunday we hung out in the am then went out to lunch and to my other nephews b-day party at a arcade place. I was feeling much better so it was not so bad. Then we drove home in a snow/freezing rain storm (fun). I went right to bed when we got home so that I could get up for school in the morning. The 6 am buzzer was way too early for my liking!
KnS - glad to hear you've got your dogs back full time. I can't imagine being separated from my little guys for any length of time.
Friday - I called in sick to my night job (since I really was sick) and after taking a short nap I started editting K's papers.
Saturday - from 9am-5pm I helped K finish up her comps. It was really nice to be part of her team and help in the little ways that I could. After she finished we ran a few errands and then went out to dinner to celebrate. The night ended with us watching Nights in Rondanthe and falling asleep on the couch :-)
Sunday - I spent a good portion of the day making a cake for my co-worker's wife's b-day. This cake is my first attempt at using fondant. I have one small crack in it, but I think I hide it with decorations. I'll post pictures tomorrow when it's complete.
Friday evening we met up with friends at a mexican place for happy hour (half price margaritas!) then went to a "party" at another friend's house, but it turned out the party was only Andrea and I
we still had fun practicing our skills at rockband and playing a few hundred rounds of catchphrase (i love that game!).
saturday we slept in and had a lazy morning on the couch followed by cruise packing and shopping topped off with lunch at my fave chinese place. In the evening I met up with some of my old coworkers for dinner and drinks.
sunday was babysitting day and we had a ton of fun watching my friend's 8 month old while she worked. He was a dream baby and we were able to run errands and go out to lunch w/ him leaving our evening free to drink hot chocolate w/ kahlua and play monopoly (this has become a sunday evening tradition in my house
)

Saturday morning, Gray and I got our haircut. After the kids nap, we took them a party with our multiples group. The kids wanted to leave after 45 min. Got dinner from Whole Foods (YUM) and bought a potty seat at Buy Buy Baby (I love that store even though there are few things we need in there anymore.) Watched DVR.
Sunday I took the kids to Panera, their Gymboree class, and grocery shopping while L did school work. Cleaned and organized while they napped and then L took the kids to the gym so she could work out and they could go to childcare (they love it) while I stayed home and installed latches in the kitchen (yes, we had some unlocked drawers still and they are nearly 3 years old), sorted through/threw away old RE paper work (from 2004-2005!) and cleaned. Tried to get BBQ for dinner, but the wait was too long - went for Mexican instead - where I had a margarita (and no dinner.) Whooo hoo. I only lasted till 10pm with the Oscars - but was up with the kids at 1, 2, 3, and 5. Sigh.
Sounds like everyone had busy, fun weekends.
Mine was also busy, but definitely great. A friend of mine from college (we lived together our junior and senior years) is getting married in March, and this past weekend was her bridal shower/suprise bachelorette. It was in Rhode Island where she lives, so I turned it into a fun little road trip with three other friends that were attending. Friday night I drove to NJ to the one friends apartment, where the other two girls joined us... then we headed to RI Saturday morning. The bridal shower was great, and we definitely completely surprised her by decorating her house for her bachelorette. Everyone hung out at her place, drinking, listening to music, and eating pizza until about 9:30... then headed out to a club. I didn't end up going out to the club with the rest of the ladies, too tired and a bit nauseous, but I hung out the rest of the time.
Sunday we headed back home and had a great drive then too. I got home around 5:15, and just vegged out after that. It was nice to see my boy and my girl. :-)

Bloggity Blog - You know you want to...
had dinner with friends Friday, and spent most of the weekend replacing our countertops and kitchen faucet.
This weekend, I... slept. That's pretty much it. I was so exhausted from a busy week and feeling ill that I just crashed pretty much all weekend. Sylvia did manage to get me out of bed for a few hours on Sunday-- just time enough to go to church and have brunch with a couple we affectionately call "Da Boyz" (they are our best friends).
So not much of an exciting weekend, but I am so grateful for the much-needed rest.
