Car Insurance?

Hey Lady's I'm looking into new car insurance companies and I'm wondering who had what company and if your price is good.

TIA

Re: Car Insurance?

  • I have Geico, which has always been great... but I have been getting quotes in the mail from Allstate which are pretty outrageous (for the same amount of coverage I have with Geico)... considering switching...
  • We have State Farm and have been happy with them. When DH was added to my plan he checked with a few other companies.  State Farm was the cheapest for him.  Good luck!
  • I'm with Claire.  I have State Farm since I turned 16.  They are awesome and affordable.  I have car & life insurance with statefarm.

Yeah, I've been with State Farm since I was 16 as well.

  • I have State Farm too. But I also work for the company, so maybe I'm a little biased ;)
  • We switched to State Farm when we moved from Illinois. I did some checking around. I haven't checked out Geico, but the rate quote from Allstate was insanely high. I'm happy with State Farm. We've been racking up lots of discounts lately. :) Plus, DH will turn 25 in a couple weeks. Another discount coming!

DH just turned 25 yesterday! :) Of course, the fact that his insurance will go down a bit thrills me... I am considering looking around for a better deal though... I have an '07 Eclipse, so I am not expecting super low rates either... but what Allstate quoted was nice, so it got me thinking... It's tough though, cause I've been with Geico since I was 17...

  • I'm another State Farm client, and haven't had any problem with them.  We have house and car insured through them.  We get a multi-line discount for doing so (even though they will not be insuring homes in FL soon).

FYI - you get the same discount for being married and for being 25... you can't double dip.  And if you didn't know, you get a discount for being married!  LOL

Oh, thanks for the heads-up! I didn't know you couldn't double dip. Our agent told us we'd get it, though. Hmm...

  • Ya, no double-dipping. Sorry girls :(

  • you also get a discount for life insurance. its like 10% off.  which i think is great.
  • I just got a quote from geico for $163 a month. Holy cow. that is so much cheaper than 21st. like over $100 a month. but the reason we switched is because 21st stop doing monthly payments to the State of Florida. They want you to pay up front 6 or 12mos and thats the only choice you get. But I did just turn 25 and I don't think 21st has us as married. so. GREAT! I'm so excited. lol I'll check out state farm and see what they say.

    Thanks girls

Yea, the discounts are pretty good. Basically, you get a discount for have more than one "line" of insurance. Also, if you have more than one car on your policy there's another discount for that. Once you've developed a good record with State Farm you'll also get a Good Driver Discount.

  • We have Geico, been happy with them so far.
  • I'm a State Farm girl as well and have been since I was 16..I also looked into other insurance companies because I was under my parents' policy and in the end State Farm was giving me the better deal..BTW Jackie my parents have everything with State Farm (car, house) and he was sooooo POed about them leaving FL..He wanted to boycott and cancel all of his policies with them!
  • I had had state farm since I was 16 and was happy with them. When I got married, my husband and I both switched to Geico and the policy was signifcantly cheaper.

My parents have been w/ them for over 20 yrs!  It is crazy they are just packiing up and leaving.  I get letters from them telling me that my car policy won't be broken.  That is the policy I car least about (easy to insure)... who is going to insure my home?  No offense to anyone, but I really don't want Citizens insurance.  I was so happy that State Farm was able to write our policy... and now, bye bye.  GGGRRR
