She only has 4 & a half teeth

And I am trying to figure out what else to feed Celeste. She will try anything once but then she will spit it out after chewing on it with her gums. The only thing she will actually swallow is mushy baby food. I am wondering if she is getting enough nutrients since I had her start on cow's milk 2%. I am so tempted to give her formula milk because it feels like she might not be getting a balanced diet. Rj's teeth didn't come out until he was passed 18 months and all of a sudden his mouth was full of teeth so I am guessing the same with Celeste. Maybe I am just over reacting??

Re: She only has 4 & a half teeth

  • What about mushy foods like the "just for toddlers" ravioli, stuff like that?  They do make that formula stuff for 12-24 months, of course it is a lot more expensive than milk.  Katie is still getting whole cows milk and loves it, I think at 2 we can switch her to 2%.
  • Hi Mae,

What is her weight?  Is she on par?

My youngest son is VERY underweight (like below the chart) but has many teeth.  He is 15 months old and it was advised by our pediatrician to continue the formula milk.  We use Enfamil, Next Step for toddlers.  (Terribly expensive, but luckily Target throws in a few coupons, which helps).

In any case, it sounds like if RJ did not get his teeth until past 18 months, it may be the same situation for Celeste.

  • Jacob has been on whole milk since he was 10 mos old, Dr. Ok'd (he hated formula) you can double up or do 1.5 servings of the stage 2 or 3 baby food. Jacob was kind of the same way, even up until about 4 months ago he didn't like the way some foods felt in his mouth so he would spit them out, ?we still have that issue with some fruits.

As long as she is growing and doesn't have weight issues she is fine. ?I did use the next step formula for 12-24 mos old in his oatmeal daily, and I still continue to give him a multi vitamin, just to be sure he is getting what he needs.

  • Thank you girls for the responses.

Celeste is growing because her outfits are getting smaller on her and she is most definitely getting longer too. As for her appt with the Md she was right on target-normal.

I might try out the formula for 12-24. Thank you again.
