Re: Do you open DW's mail w/o permission?

  • I open financials, but not things like the BDay card that came today from her grandpa.
  • I open bills, and cards addressed to both of us.

Not cards from her mom or anything.

  • Similar, I open non-personal but addressed to her or both of us.

  • Ditto pp :-)
  • We open anything weve been waiting for (cc's, debit cards, school books, checks, etc) whoever gets the mail opens.

He doesnt mess with my pet mail (mainly stuff for foster and rescue) and I dont open things that are personal such as a card from family.

We consider ourselves married and I do all finances sooooo yea, we open whatever.

  • C and I open each other's mail, and look at each other's email all the time.

  • i open all the mail. on rare occasion she gets it from the box first in which case she'll open all her mail then leave it out for me to read along with mine
  • we only open something of the other's if both our names are on it. Or if it's a bill that I pay but with her name on it.

  • I handle all the bills so usually I open all the mail, even when she checks the mail she'll leave it to me to open everything. On the rare occasion that we get cards or letters from family its usually addressed to both of us.

  • hm. i said i opened cards from family, but really i only do that when it's a card for both of us. i wouldn't open a birthday card for her. there's also a cc that's in her name that i pay, so when we used to get paper statements i opened them because i was handling it. i bring in the mail during the week, but i just leave everything addressed to her on the counter.
  • Whoever gets the mail first (which is usually me) brings it in and we sort out who's is who's and then we usually open it together (We get home at the same time because we take classes together). If I were to open her mail or vise versa noone would care :) Cards from family addressed to her I won't open and cards from fam addressed to me she won't open, but I wouldn't mind if she did. :)
  • I posted on both here and the local board....b/c I'm always curious to see if SSH act differently than HS households.

As for me...I voted for Junk Mail only.  However I will open the cable and utlities bills that are addressed to her, but I pay for.  Otherwise, I seperate the mail and she'll open hers when she gets home.
