Hey I know this is kind of an odd question, but I was hoping you could give me some insight, since your part of a realtor team. My husband and I have heard about the new business of cleaning foreclosed homes, and were possibly interested in doing this with my brother in-law as a part-time job. It's not that we need the money, but are always interested in earning additional money to put back into savings and I haven't seen any advertisement in the KC area other then for example Merry Maids. Do you know if this is something I should talk to a realtor team about or go directly to the bank if this was something I was interested in pursuing?

Hi Mrs. Huey!
Webster Team doesn't deal with many foreclosures so I personally can't help you with that right now (although it's something we're looking to get into if possible so I'll def. keep you in mind).
Most the time the banks will subcontract out that work if they feel it needs to be done (or they will have the REA subcontract it out). Often times, though, the banks are willing to just sell it 'as is' and have the buyer clean it later.
The hardest part is getting your foot in the door. I would probably start by calling your local bank and just asking around. The foreclosure department (sometimes they call it something a little less 'scary') would probably be the best place to start.
If you can get in with your bank and do a good job then bankers and REAs talk about that stuff. They love to pass along good recommendations.
I'll keep my ears open for you!
