Recommendations for things to do with DS

Now that I am home full-time with my son I am trying to find things for us to do together during the day. It's still too cold to do too much outside so we go to the mall a lot, but I have a hard time not spending money when we are there and we don't have much to spend. So, I need recommendations of things we can do or places we can go that are free or cheap and not too far away. We live in Hicksville. We already go to a class at the library once a week, but I am looking for some other things to fill our time. Any ideas?

  • Other than the library, I take my nephew to Barnes and Noble, our local one has a craft story time.

Other then that though I'm not sure.

  • Your son is adorable!!! How about joining a meet up group on meet up dot com? I belong to two in my area that are great. One is in and around thw Wantagh area, the other is Long Beach (which is a bit far for me, but during the summer they do group walks on the boardwalk and the moms are super down to earth and the kids are nice so I do both groups.) These meet up playdates are a great way to socialize and because it's a group of moms and kids you have ideas for the winter months for stuff to do that you might no think of yourself.
