any good campground recs?
Hello San Diego nesties! We're planning an overnight camping trip in san diego, does anyone have any good campground recommendations? We're from LA and we've taken trips down there before (san diego has so much to offer that one day is not enough!!!) and we stayed at KOA in Chula Vista, does anyone have another place that would be good? TIA!

My favorite is San Elijo in Cardiff. Reservations are sometimes hard to get, but worth it. I have gone camping there every summer since I was little.

Weve done South Carlsbad St. Beach a few years and love it. Not a great tent beach because 1) The train blows by every 30 mins or so all night and 2) there are serious ant problems, you have to Ajax everything the touches the ground.
Its hard to get in, but you never loose the beach during high tide, and its on a cliff, with stairs only accessable via the campground, so it is usually empty.
