Hey, I haven't seen you around lately but I was thinking about Porkchop and wondering how he's feeling? Did he get over his cold from the beauty contest?

Re: ***Njrunr3***

  • Hey!  He's doing much better. He was still pretty sick on Tuesday, but is much better now. He's still on meds until Sunday, but all the symptoms are gone now and he's finally acting like himself and running around the house with his soccer ball, so I know he feels better. Thanks for asking!

  • Yay! I'm so glad he's feeling better. Tell him he needs to stop getting sick and making you worried.

  • Seriously. But I blame myself. I let him drink out of the water bowls there, as did everyone else, and he happened to catch whatever was going around. We won't make that mistake again. I don't want to confine him indoors until he's 1, but I don't want him catching all these things either. The things that go along with dog ownership!

  • When we did Boots training at Petsmart, people probably thought I was crazy because I brought him his own water and bowl :)

  • See, I always carry that bottle with the drinking thing (i think it's called sipz?) and if we're at the dog park, that's all he's allowed to drink from.  For some reason, I just let him use those bowls, even though I had that in my hand the entire time.  People look at me like I'm crazy too when I whip that out, esp. since the dog park has water bowls, but now I have a good reason to continue this.

  • Yup you have a very good reason :)

We haven't had any problems at our dog park, so I don't worry there, but our dog park is membership only. People are really good about staying home if their dog is sick or has something that could possibly be shared.

  • I kept him out of the dog park since he got sick. Even though he's better, I'm not taking any chances because I would hate it if he infected someone's dog. I wish others felt the same way. I just found out from our friend that a guy brought a dog with sarcoptic mange to the dog park this week. And he didn't think he did anything wrong!! Luckily, it's not the one we go to, but if our neighbor's dog gets it, the entire complex will.

  • Some people amaze me. Hopefully your neighbors dog is okay and doesn't get it.
