A little help from the VT Nesties

Hi ladies!  I usually spend a my time lurking on the D&R boards but I have some area specific questions.  My SIL is getting married this fall and is having trouble finding a location/venue that fits her personality and budget.  (We had the same problem but decided to go over budget-wise).  So, she is very crunchy, eco-friendly and conscious of using local products when possible.  She is also trying to spend very little money as they want to buy land.  She is looking for a casual, most likely outdoor ceremony/reception location for approx 130 people.  Does anyone have any good recommendations?  We (me and MIL) would prefer to have a location with plumbing.  Anyone have good ideas?

TIA!

  • Not sure the budget but mine was very small, I got married at the Abbey in Sheldon, VT.  I have a few pics in my bio.  They have a cute little gazebo area for a wedding and a decent reception hall.  Here is the link.  Their website sucks but customer service is great!

  • How about a state park? Might not have plumbing though. Do you have anyone that has a nice yard? I love backyard weddings, they are so casuel and fun, and then she can choose local vendors that she likes. And portapotties for weddings have come a long way!

Or try Burke Mtn in Burke... just a random thought :)

  • Kingland Bay State Park or Sleepy Hollow Inn come to mind...
