FL nesties, I need your help please!

My husband and I may be moving to FL soon.  His company is restructuring and we've heard through the grapevine we are getting relocated.  He is a district manager and his area would run from Orlando to the north and Miami to the south on the eastern side of FL.  We want to live directly in the middle (we've looked at Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Vero Beach, etc on Craigslist).  Is this the right board for those areas?  And can you tell me if those are good areas to live or anything you recommend instead?? 

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Most of the SFL board girls are all from Miami. CFL has some girls from Ocala, to Melbourne/Palm Bay area. There really isn't a local board for somewhere in between.

I grew up in Port St Lucie..."the Pizzle" I dont care for that city at all. It's miles and miles of homes(half in foreclosure) with hardley any commercial areas to back it up.

Now I live in Palm City which is next to Stuart. Love it here. Great place to raise a family, excellent schools and it is close to the major highways which run north and south. It is about 40 minutes north of Palm Beach.

That's awesome! Vegas was such a fun place to get married. We loved it.

Where in Miami would he be going? The distance between Miami and Orlando timewise is about 4 hours. Ft. Pierce would be smart because you would be in the middle, and close to both I-95 and the Turnpike, but I am not sure what you are looking for in a city.

Ok, I just asked DH, we grew up in South Florida, so we know about the traffic around there, and since we live in Orlando we know how it is here too. He thinks you might want to check out the area, north of West Palm Beach. The worst traffic is Palm Beach County going south, so his commute would be about the same as going north to the Orlando area, even though mileage wise it is further. There are some really nice areas there that you may want to check out- Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens.

Stuart might be a nice middle ground. It's a beautiful area too.?

Thanks for all of the advice ladies!  To answer a few questions, we are looking for a city that has a suburban feel.  Decent houses, retail, etc.  We lived in San Francisco before and we are over the city living thing!! 

Also, his job is that he travels around to motorcycle dealerships in the area and his district is from Orlando to Miami and we can live anywhere in his district.  We thought PSL/Stuart would be a middle ground.  From the sound of it, we will not explore PSL very much, and look more into Stuart, etc.

I completely agree with MrsDMC.  I currently live in Orlando but was raised in Northern Palm Beach County.  I have also lived in Martin, St Lucie and Orlando.  My Favorites of them all is Northern Palm Beach and Martin Counties.  I wish you all luck.  I was just in Martin, St Lucie and WPB over the weekend.  Im home now and I miss it already.   Good Luck!
