So disappointed
We were supposed to have an open house on Sunday. My realtor has known about it for awhile, but instead of getting his ducks in a row, he went to Mardi Gras. He informed me on Tuesday that he missed the deadline for the free open house ad in the local Homeseeker that comes out on Fridays. We told him to take out a paid ad.
Well, I looked in the paper today. There's an ad, alright. Lovely color ad, in fact. But absolutely no mention of an open house. No day. No time.
This is on top of our home's listing being messed up on realtor.com
I guess the open house is going to be moved back 2 weeks. He better place the correct ad this time.

I hate it when you have to count on other people to do something for you, then they don't follow through! Especially when it's as important as selling a house. I hope you can get everything worked out!
That is so frustrating! I can imagine it's even worse because he's a friend that you're counting on. I know it would be really awkward, but if things continue this way I would not hesitate to find a new realtor.
yes, it's hard to use friends for things like this. I learned that the hard way in buying two places in ATL. Never again.
I think you have to look at this as it's just business and if he's not doing his job (which seems like he's had 2 strikes now) then I'd find another realtor. It will be hard to do this (break apart from him) but probably for the best as you want this to work out to sell your place.
