Where can I find authentic crispy tacos???
I am so desperate! Every Mexican restaurant that I have tried so far serves those pre-made crunchy taco shells, if they serve crispy at all. I am looking for the homemade, fried crispy tacos.
Tres Hermanos in Tigard had them, but they closed. Does anyone have any great places I can try? I'll drive anywhere...I need crispy tacos!
Re: Where can I find authentic crispy tacos???
We always eat our mexican at Mazatlan. They have some locations all over. We really like it.
Please tell me the difference between Mexican and Hispanic.

I'm so sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone, my friend & her family were insistent on being called Mexican because they were from Mexico and are offended when someone calls them hispanic. Again I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
People that I know that are of Mexican heritage all prefer to be described as "Mexican" and definetly not "Hispanic". The word "Hispanic" was coined in the 80's by either George HW Bush or Reagan (I can't remember) as a general description for anybody with brown skin from anywhere south of Texas. In most circles, it's not the preferred description... I don't think you offended anybody! Don't worry!
LOL--we can blame Reagan/Bush for a lot of things, I'm sure, but the etymology of the word "hispanic" is not among them.

hehe. Just wondering what your definition was.

To me, saying someone is "Hispanic" is somewhat akin to saying someone is from France is "European." It's not necessariy inaccurate, but it's not very specific, either.
