Would you buy a refurbished camera?
DH and I are looking to buy a Nikon D60 with our tax refund. We have found a really good deal for a camera and extra lens (both refurbished by Nikon). It would save us about $150, but for some reason I feel funny buying a refurbished one. Do you think it's safe?

If it's refurbished by Nikon, I would feel pretty good about that. Most of the time if Nikon has fixed it, it was something stupid that they were able to fix easily and just can't sell it as "new" anymore. ?

I bought a refurbished lens a couple of weeks ago. It was really soft (ie the focus was really off). I had no problems returning it. But I would think hard before ordering refurbished again. You have to be prepared to give it a good workout when you first get it to make sure that it is all working properly.
