Uh... the best things come in ...twos... right?

Well, tonight, last night.... I dont know - Sunday night - (I've been up all night) E messaged me on yahoo and says "someone dumped a puppy at my work." So of course I go back into "independent rescue" mode, pack the emergency bag, call the cab and Im there within the hour.

A beautiful baby english bull dog (8 to 12 weeks) no microchip or collar. ticks, hungry as can be (lucky I know how to pack an emergency bag! [ill be a good mom, wth is a diaper bag? I pack dog food, treats, and a whole array of medical supplies! lol!]).

I went ahead and took her to our emergency vet ALL the way across the city, had her scanned for the microchip, on all 3 readers. None. Verified she was spayed, and was roughly 10 weeks old.

Looks like I have another one to rehome, as soon as she had her shots! :)

Re: Uh... the best things come in ...twos... right?

  • That's a pricey dog if she's purebred.  I'm glad she found a safe and warm place with you and E.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • she's a pretty girl. I wonder what happened...looks like a purebred...
  • Aww, she is lucky to have you.

  • We called the police this morning after double checking at a different vet about a chip and turned her in.

She is a 5 thousand dollar show dog, pick of the litter. Yea, Im stunned.

The horrid thing? E and I didn't even get a thank you from the owner or police. They were more interested in blaming us for STEALING her!

     :grumble:

From a rescues perspective pure breeds get dumped ALL the time, everywhere, it isnt THAT odd or out of place to see any type of pure bred dumped for a whole array of reasons.

I am now sitting back at home with my anorexic looking calvin..... enjoying NOT having untrained puppies around,
