Slum Dog Millionaire-possible spoiler so be careful

Who has seen it, what did you think?

We saw it last night. It was such an emotionally powerful movie. I went to India in the 70's and saw a lot of Bombay, now Mumbai. I've been to Victoria's Station, the train station that played a big part in the plot. If you see this movie, do not think that any of it was fake, this is exactly how the people live. I saw entire families living in stacked up sewer pipes. I've seen beggars in the street doing exactly what those kids were doing and worse. Women holding dead babies begging for money. I almost lost it a time or two. The end of the movie where he kisses her scar just tore me up. I had wondered what the big deal was with this movie winning so many awards. Now I know why it won.

  • I LOVE love love this movie. I've been reccommending it to everyone :)It's now one of my all time faves.

It was so beautiful!! And yes, the ending was so sweet, I about lost it. I thought that was just am amazing screenplay and I am thrilled for them winning all those Oscars! Amazingly the two leads (Jamal and Latika) had nevr been in movies before. The actor who played Jamal was just a TV actor on a series in England called Skins, and Frieda Pinto (Latika) was a model. They were so impressive :) And the smaller kids who played them and the brother were all great as well.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie.  DH took me to it on our anny wknd.  It was the best and we still want to see it again.

I think this movie has everything in it and is not just a love story.  So much to it and I learned a lot more about India.  What a great thing for their country.  And all the awards!!!

The kids were great and they actually pulled them from the slums.
