4th pregnancy on NuvaRing
A lady I work with said that her daughter is expecting her 4th child. She unfortunately lost one baby, but 3 were conceived while she was using the Ring and one on OrthoEvra! She did say that her daughter had problems with it coming out sometimes, but she'd always reinsert it as soon as it did. Otherwise, used it as directed. She's really happy about it, but that's scary for those who don't want a pregnancy!
Re: 4th pregnancy on NuvaRing
Well that's good that she's happy about it.
But it doesn't sound like the birth control is doing what it's supposed to, I think I go with a different kind the next time around.
I HATED NR. I'm just sayin'.
I'm glad she's happy about it! I would be having a heart attack...
I hated NR and would freak out too.
Wow, well, there's always that 1% statisically, and then there's people who don't do well on certain methods. I am surprised she didn't switch to a pill at some point instead of sticking with those kinds of BC. (But maybe the pill had side effects for her or something).?
I was on orthro evra awhile back, and got off of it after I heard about the increased risk for blood clots and stroke being 3 x what it is versus the pill.
I actually got chewed out on the nest once for saying the FDA warned about it and how it might not be the best method, but um...it's true. (I guess they thought that by linking to the FDA article about it to inform people, I was attacking them for their preferred method of BC, but it wasn't personal at all).
I was on it and my doctor stopped prescribing it after those reports came out in 2005. ?
As for NR, eh...just seemed odd to me. like the patch getting loose on my abdomen when I used it, I can see how the NR may not stay in place and do what it is supposed to. ?
Mine wanted to fall out a lot. I would be sitting at work and I could feel it sort of poking out. At first it would hold into place just fine, but towards the end of my cycle, it would have sort of lost its shape and fell out a lot more. It was nice not having to take a pill every day. That was about it.
ditto, man.
I must be the odd woman out. I LOVE NR. Been on it for about 3 years. No huge issues, its just expensive and I have to order it from Canada. Course, I haven't really ever tried anything else.
And different BC's affect everyone differently. Some may just not be ok on any BC.

LOL- LeeLee same here. Except for I never tried the patch... Seasonale and Ortho Lo made me into an uberbitch... Seasonale was the worst. NR made me really, extremely depressed as well.
As a matter of fact, Jason looked at me last night and goes... "you're not NEAR as evil during that time as you used to be... I thought getting off the pill would make it worse!" ...LOL. Guess I was bad, huh. =P
But then again, I have friends who have taken the pill/ring/patch/depo for years and absolutely love it. Everybody is different
That's funny! DH says I'm a completely different person too! It's really good to know that it was the hormones and not truly my personality, lol.
No kidding... I kind of lost track of who I was- isn't that weird? I remember the first few weeks after I got off BC... I was like "Wow... is it just me or did the world become a lot more pleasant?"
