What time of the day do you most appreciate or need silence?
Re: Today's Question: 3/3
Mine is when I read. Last night I was reading and DH was eating an orange with his mouth open. I kinda flipped out after the third time I asked him to not eat like an animal. I'm not sure what it is about oranges, but he is normally well mannered, but when it comes to oranges he's like a wild beast.
Anyway I can't handle orange eating noises when I read.
Usually if I'm really focused on something it doesn't really matter what's going on around me, I can completely zone it out-esp. if I'm crosstitching or working on something crafty.
I totally suck...I haven't checked this board in a month I'm sure! I didn't even know you were doing this... but it's a great idea and I think I'll start chiming in. (I've been avoiding the nest due to lay offs...the less cards stacked against me the better....but I can start using my phone to do this)
anyways...my answer..
hmmm I would say I need total quiet when I am going to bed. The only noise I've ever been able to get used to is a fan and that's bc it's constant. No TV, no dog, no dryer...nothing!! (not even light..which I'm aware is not a noise lol...just showing you the extent of my weirdness about sleep) Other than that I have to agree with Meghan... I can pretty much zone out anythign when I'm working or reading.
I'm with you, MrsZP2B!
As a PhD student, I have to read a lot of journal articles and I have to have complete silence in order to comprehend most of them! Unfortunately, my office is a cubicle, so I've invested in some good earplugs
I also tend to get annoyed with DH when he talks right through important parts of tv shows, but avoid that argument by keeping closed captioning on most of the time.
