While we are on the subject of purposals what was yours?
Since we are on that topic.
Mine:
I was home visiting my dad before he went off to Iraq for a year and when I was flying back home, DH was waiting for me in the airport terminal (PBIA) on one knee with an older lady (we dont know who she is) standing next to him asking me if I was going to answer him some time soon or if they were all going to have to wait to hear my answer. lol
I will never forget that. The reason he did it in the airport was because thats where we spent most of our 7 months apart (me flying back and forth) before I moved down here. He purposed 2 months after I moved in with him. Aww!
Re: While we are on the subject of purposals what was yours?
Aww that's adorable!!
DH proposed in Little Palm Island. Its soo beautiful and romantic there. After our dinner a lady came and said the chef had a special dessert for us since we spent the full day at the spa there. So of course I had no clue. And when they open the plate the ring is sitting on a bed of purple orchids, then I looked at Mario and he was on one knee. Of course I cried. So beautiful!!!
There was a spot in the yard at my house where we would always talk about things and spend some "alone time" from the ever watchful eye of my family. One day, that's where he proposed, it was perfect because the night was beautiful and it was always our little spot.
Very cute stories ladies.
I had never been to Key West, so when I mentioned it to DH, he said "ok, we'll drive down this weekend" almost immediately. He had already bought the ring, but didnt' know how to pop the question. When we got down there, we went shopping down Duval Street. He stopped at Margaritaville to use the restroom, and took FOREVER (seriously, over 20 min). He said he had a horrible stomach ache. Later that evening, we had dinner there (we are HUGE Parrotheads). There was a live band playing, and in the middle of one of their numbers, they call DH up on stage, and he grabs me too! He grabs the camera and tosses it to the next table (luckily the lady knew what she had to do LOL). So, he proposed on stage.
He was so nervous waiting for them to call him up that he had LITERALLY 6 margaritas and a shot of kamakazi (sp) beforehand, during dinner! And the ironic thing is that we kept drinking the rest of the night, nonstop. People kept buying us drinks, and the next morning we felt nothing! We were on such an adrenline rush!

Ours was pretty low-key. We fell in love quite rapidly and were discussing marriage within 3 months of dating (crazy, I know). DH can't keep a secret to save his life, so almost immediately after purchasing the ring, he proposed. He wrote "Will you marry me?" on the shower door and as I was about to hop in, I saw it. We had been dating for 6 months at that point (but we did have a 1.5 year engagement).
Of course we told my family a slight variation of that story, since they didn't really know we were living together, let alone using the same shower!
aww!! I love reading these!
Ours was on our 5 year anniversary, we were home watching tv and DH asked me to go upstairs to get him the computer charger. When I came back down I noticed our American Bulldog Cleo had something stuck on her collar and was totally freaking out so DH asked me to check out what was wrong with her and when I did I noticed the ring was hanging from her collar and then he got down on one knee and proposed. I loved it (obviously lol)=)
awh!!! i love all these stories...
for us, it happened at our mutual friends' house (coincidentially, the ones that introduced us just before their own wedding). while dating, we would go over to their house at least once a month for "ufc night" (the guys are into it, the girls just use it as an excuse to hang out and chat). of course, he knew i would never suspect, whereas a fancy dinner or something overly romantic would've definitely given it away... so, we arrived, had dinner, watched the fight, etc... he had no idea how he was going to pull it off... but suddenly, someone suggested we play "battle of the sexes" (boardgame). after playing for about an hour (yeah, he was super nervous, and couldn't figure out how to do it), we were all getting restless and tired... so finally, he pulls out a card, and says, "what do gold, silver and platinum have in common?" everyone looked at me, and my team members urged me to answer... i said, "well, if i think like a guy, and get all scientific... those are all precious metals... but thinking like a girl, i say they all make good ring settings..." he asked me if that was my final answer. i looked to my team, and they were like, answer already... lol... so i said, "ok... they are all precious metals..." he asked again if it was my final answer, and i said yes... so he got down on one knee, and asked... i FREAKED... but of course, said yes... and now, here we are
