Watch Oprah Right Now

This is the most intense show I've ever watched. Well Oprah wise.

I think everybody needs to keep children like this in your thoughts or prayers.

Re: Watch Oprah Right Now

  • What's the story about?  I'm at work and can't see it...
  • Unfortunately it's about Children who were neglected.
This one girl Danielle (who the show is based around) was in awful shape, she had insect bites, lice, no sense of stimulation what-so-ever.
Her Mother had children before her but they were all grown and she pretty much let her (then) 6 year old daughter fend for herself.
A neighbor saw Danielle peek out the window one evening. She called the police and when they came in to investigate there was waste and trash everywhere, she didn't eat, she couldn't walk - instead she'd crawl in a "crab walk", she couldn't talk, she wouldn't let anybody touch her.
They took her to the E.R. and they had to put her in a large crib with bars because she would try to hurt anybody who touched her.
After that they gave the girl back to her Mother!
Well she didn't change things so they took her away for good.
This one couple went to a function where you could help children with mental disabilities. While there they saw a picture of Danielle (who was then 7 or 8)
They decided to adopt her. They had 4 boys and the youngest is 10, now that they adopted Danielle she is learning everything that a 2 or 3 year old would know how to do.

It's sad, but amazing that people are still compassionate out there to take a girl with so many problems and try to help her.

  • wow, that is a really sad situation for the little girl.  I hope things work out for her.
  • thanks for posting the recap..... I only was able to watch the first 15 minutes.... I can't believe that they gave her back to the mom.  I am happy to hear that she is with better people now.
