How long have you been married? (if you are)
Tell us a little about your wedding day!
Re: Today's Question: 3/4
In May, I will have been married 3 years.
My wedding day was wonderful to me because it was about 100 people, and 80 of those were family. We both have big families, and it is hard to get everyone together. Plus we were the first people on both sides to get married, so it was special for everyone.
Legally, since May 31, 2007-JOP in Charlotte, the day before we moved to Greenville.
LOL
We had been planning a beach wedding up to the point we found out about DH's job offer here, so we just did the JOP service w/ my best friend and her bf @ the time, and kept working on the beach wedding plan.
Our wedding celebration was September 8 2007 on Sunset Beach NC at 6:30pm-sunset. We had the best time-everyone was barefoot, casual, our officiant was a self proclaimed beach hippie (who I would totally recommend for vow renewals or weddings or elopments-just ask me and I'll give you his info) and we just had a good time at the ceremony. Our reception was a blast-we spent 4.5 hours with our family and friends-some we hadn't seen in years. Some of the family members we met (of each others) we met for the 1st time (we'd been dating since 12/06)and had a blast. There was some minor drama, that I didn't find out about til later, but all in all everything turned out wonderfully!!!
I've been married for 2 years tomorrow! We were married in a private ceremony in Jamaica with just our immediate families and our bridal party there.
Then we had a big reception in WV where we were both home a few weeks later for all the extended family and friends who weren't in the birdal party.
Speaking of, I will be out of town Friday-Sunday. Will one of you committ to carrying on the question of the day for those 3 days?
Our first anniversary is April 19. So less than one year.
It was a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in Clemson SC. We got married under a rustic arbor my mom's b/f hand built for us out of trees from his property in NC. Then we had a very fun reception in a brick barn built in the 1800's which was very rustic and beautiful. There was a lot going on (dropped out wedding party, rain, tv crews, ect) but when I got to the end of the isle, kissed my mom and dad and held Brian's hand...it seriously all dissappeared and all I saw was the man I loved, my amazing family and friends supporting me and the most perfect day of my life.
Sappy I know...but you're allowed to be when you talk about your wedding, right?
oh! and happy anniversary!!
I'll gladly take over the questions if you would like.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes! That would be great if you could post questions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I try to do it in the morning when possible.
I'm thinking down the road if people keep responding and we decide to continue it, maybe some of the regulars can rotate weeks, and each of us take a week and do the questions for that week.
Ok...I will do so first thing in the mornings. I also think that is a good idea, so that you don't have to keep coming up with questions or have the hassle of posting on everymorning of every week. I think most of us wouldn't have a problem with alternating weeks.
Thanks so much!

So excited to meet Amelia Catherine!
We've been married 7 months!
Our wedding day was great. We were married at Mountain Creek Baptist Church then had a reception at the Hyatt. Our reception had a hockey theme to it because we are HUGE hockey fans.
In May, 2 years
We were married in Raleigh. We had a Catholic ceremony & reception at a hall. We had an asian flare to the day since my husband is Chinese. Our colors were red & white. My mother (an excellent seamstress) made my pickup skirt dress. We had 3 GM, 3 BM, a ring bearer & flower girl. The food was asian with a few Italian specialties of our caterer. We had a DJ, open bar & hours of good fun dancing. I have tons of planning pics & a few actual wedding day pics in my bio. Link in siggy
