H and I are planning on going somewhere for our 1 year anniversary and the original plan was to go to Vegas for 4 days but H isn't completely sold on it because he's not sure we should spend that much money.
Anyway, we decided to come up with 5 places each that are within 8 hours driving from us and I don't really want to go to Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, or one of the nearby beaches. So far I've got Disney World, St. Augustine/Palm Coast, and Savannah, GA
any suggestions?
Re: vacation spots
I'll second Myrtle Beach. I love it there. Charleston South Carolina is great as well. New Orleans would be fun too.
I LOVE Savannah! We stayed here http://www.riverstreetinn.com/. Perfect, central location for sightseeing and people watching. Its really a lovely place to go with your husband.
I also cannot say enough good things about where we went for our anniversary last year. http://www.bairdhouse.com/
Let me know if you want any more info on either place, Crystal!
I agree with Amy about Savannah. I have also stayed at that Inn and it's wonderful.
I love St Augustine too and my parents go there a lot and I can get you info on it. Charleston is a fav of mine as well.
If you have time, I would love to have some tips on things to do in Charleston. Lauren and I are planning a trip the Charleston and then on to Savannah at the end of May. I've been to Savannah several times but know nothing about Charleston. greeneyz7@aol.com
Blog!
I say go to Savannah, Charleston or New Orleans. (New Orleans is only about 4 hours from Tuscaloosa... so that is about 5 from B'ham)
In Savannah we also stayed in the River Street Inn. It was really nice.
