What to do in Mount Dora???

FIL gave us a weekend in a hotel in Mount Dora in 2 weeks. I don't know WHY he thinks we would want to go there... it's pretty much local.

Anyway, any suggestions on what to do/where to eat, etc? Thanks!

Re: What to do in Mount Dora???

  • Really not much. They have some great restaurants to look into. I live in Eustis which is about 10 minutes from Mt. Dora. It's a cute downtown area, with antique type shops. If you go to lakecountyfl.gov you can probably find some things to do not only in Mt. Dora but in the surronding cities. Hope this helps.
  • Ahh i love Mt. Dora!!! However, I love anything with tons of antique shops and a book store. There are a few good restaurants there (although) I cant remember what my favorite one is called. There is a little shop down by the railroad rides that it full of stationary, ohh so fun. I dont know, you either love it or hate it... If you guys have bikes bring them with you, there are some beautiful houses to look at there (if you also love anything antique like me) Have Fun!

  • Downtown Mt. Dora is very cute. You can walk around and go in the shops. Also, there is Pisces Rising which is a restaurant and they have a band sometimes at night which is nice- is pricey though. The Goblin Market is also a great restaurant.

  • I think they have boat tours that leave from the downtown area. That could be fun if it's a pretty day. There are some cute shops, and there is a delish cupcake shop on the main drag ;-)

Depending when you go, there are also different festivals from time to time. Have fun!!
