I will start....
Ron and I got married last March 29, 2008- I am sooo excited for our first anniversary even though I don't have plans yet, I need to plan something soon!
I am most excited about summer Weddings that we have to go to, the Taste of Chicago, Cubs Games (even though I am not a Cubs fan), being outside, MOVING, having BBQ's, walking my dog and just being outside!
Big plans coming up- We are going to be celebrating our First Year Anniversary on March 21st and go away for the night, then the the next weekend we will be celebrating my Birthday and our Anniversary at my parent's lake house! Then in June we are going to Myrtle Beach with my family to visit my brother for 9 days, I can't wait!
Hobbies- well I am trying to learn to crochet and I love to scrapbook!
I wish we talked more about jobs, restaurants, and fun activities... If you do something fun some weekend post it for the rest of us, there are a lot of things in Chicago and I bet most of us are missing out on them because we don't know they exist! I also think we should network more, I have a good job but in these tough economic times I think a lot of people could do some good networking on here if they really wanted to...
About me- well my Husband is an electrician and I work for a Univerisity working with International Students, I am mostly working the overnight shift to be able to call overseas more frequently, but I like it a lot. I like to go out ot dinner and drinks and hang out with Friends... My husband and I have recently started to try and have a baby...

We got married on Feb 18 2009 in Barrington.
I am just overall so excited for summer- warm weather!! Being outside more, taking walks with the dog, concerts, chicago, etc.
Our big plans right now are to break through from a bedroom into the kitchen (making a doorway) and turn the bedroom into a dining room.
Fav hobbies are art and photography, and decorating.
I dont really care what we talk about on the board, but I think its great we're trying to get the board more alive. Its fun to get to know the girls in your local area.
My husband and I have been together for 3 years- married for 1 year. We have a yorkie puppy named Hailee and she is our child. We don't plan on having kids for a few more years. My husband works in sales and I work at a photography studio doign design.
We got married on July 29, 2006. It was a great day, but HOT as HECK (102 degrees). I would highly recommend a spring or fall wedding to anyone who is not married yet.
Big plans: I have two business trips to DC and Orlando coming up, and I'm very excited about those because I love to travel. DH and I are also going to a wedding in Fort Lauderdale in May. We haven't taken a vacation together in so long, so I am excited about that.
As far as hobbies, I love reading, writing (I work in PR and editing and also like to freelance in those areas), scrapbooking, taking road trips, going to comedy clubs and fun restaurants, etc.
DH is an attorney and I'm in PR. We are not yet trying to have kids--probably in mid-2010. We do have two very cute dogs, though!

I'm most excited about being able to be outside, take my dog to the park, have BBQs, sit in the sun, etc.
No big plans coming up, but hopefully getting a new job since I'm likely getting laid off soon. I interviewed earlier this week and should know something next week. Yikes.

What else... well, we're hoping to start a family either in 2010 or 2011. Our family for now is an almost-one-year-old lab/boxer mix named Juno and an 8 year old cat named Fox. We've been together since September of 2002 and bought a house just over a year ago in the far north suburbs.

What are you most excited about for SUMMER in Chicago??
I love being outdoors-hiking, beach, camping. I also love concerts-the outdoor ones are the best. There is so much to do-festivals etc in chicago during the summer.
Do you have any big plans coming up soon??
We are going to San Antonio, TX to finish off our honeymoon since it got interupted by Hurrican Ike in september, and it will also be his birthday weekend-so should be tons of fun.
What are your favorite hobbies??
Anything outdoorsy, scrapbooking, photography, reading--i'm a huge book worm, traveling when I have the time and $

Different things to do around chicago, restaurant recs etc...maybe a few more get togethers

Pat and I have been together for 3 1/2 years and we live in a zoo--no really we have 3 rotties, 13 ferrets and 7000 gallon KOI pond in the back yard--the animals definitly keep us busy-but it helps that we both love animals. I work as a scientist at a pharmacuetical company and Pat is a manager of Tire Tracks in town. we don't have any human kids yet -just the fuzzy kind, and we are not planning on having kids anytime soon--maybe in a few years.

What are you most excited about for SUMMER in Chicago??
I am from the south and went to college in Florida, so you can only imagine how difficult midwestern winters are for me, and everyone for that matter. I look forward to warmth, Eating at outdoor cafe's, Cubs games (love the bleachers!!), beach, running outside and along the lake, Taste, Air & Water show, fireworks, Tall Ships, Farmer's Markets (produce right now sucks!), festivals!!, BBQs, cornhole..and most importantly, enjoying the sun being up past 5pm

Wedding in Charleston in May, brother's wedding in PA in June, and hopefully interviewing for jobs...grr.

I love watching TV and movies, working out, traveling, and playing with my furbabies.

I am Amanda, from NC. Hubby and I went to the same high school, but did not date until my last semester in college. We moved here June 2006. I just finished nursing school and am looking for a job. Don't want kids for another few years, and we want to move back to NC in a year or so.

What are you most excited about for SUMMER in Chicago?? I live in the suburbs, but, I love Chicago summers. I can't wait until Cubs games start (even if my "other" husband, Mark DeRosa, is no longer a Cub).
Do you have any big plans coming up soon?? March of Dimes March for Babies Walk on April 26th. It's a yearly event for me. Other than that, no big plans of any kind.
What are your favorite hobbies?? I volunteer with the March of Dimes, love reading, love to travel, I'm addicted to reality TV, um....that's all I can think of at the moment.
What do you wish we talked more about on the Chicago Board? Honestly, anything. I tend to lurk here, but because there aren't many posts, I don't stay around. I'm glad to see it getting busier....
MISC.- tell us about yourself/your hubby/your job/your kids/are you planning on haveing kids soon?? I just turned 30, DH just turned 31. We have a Chocolate Lab - she's our baby so far. I grew up in Chicago (Logan Square) and moved to Hoffman Estates while in high school. DH is from Iowa. We had just started TTC and we were both laid off from our jobs. (Darn mortgage industry!!!) Now we're both job hunting, which is incredibly frustrating. That's us in a nut shell right now.

I am most excited about everything. I moved to Chicago in September, but spent many weekends here last summer visiting DH before we got married. I miss the sunshine (I'm from Denver, 300 sunny days a year there) I loved walking all over the city last summer, street festivals, and sipping cold beer on a warm patio. I'm also excited to get our dog out of the house more, this winter he has been feeling very cooped up.
No big plans, we are going to Denver in three weeks to celebrate my birthday with my friends and to go to a friends wedding. We were looking forward to our honeymoon in April but have had to postpone. This is a tough time to own a small business (my DH, not me).
I love all things food; eating food, cooking food, reading bout food. I also like to play board games, wii and read. In Devner I loved refinishing furniture, but I'm not sure if we have the space for that here. I miss the mountains, I loved kayaking, climbing and tubing.
What do you wish we talked more about on the Chicago Board?
I'm new here, so I'm just trying to meet some locals, all my friends are back home in Denver.
I am an engineer for a large steel company, DH owns a print and web design business. I'm new to Chicago, but DH has lived here forever. We live in Lincoln Park/De Paul neighborhood with Kitty and Murph Dog.

What are you most excited about for SUMMER in Chicago?? I don't live in Chicago, but I'm hoping to come into the city at least once.
Do you have any big plans coming up soon?? Hubby and I just bought our first house (we closed about a week ago) and so we're just working on getting things fixed up and put together.
What are your favorite hobbies?? I love to dance. DH and I will frequently play poker with our group of friends. I love to travel and look forward to at least one more big vacation before we start TTC.
What do you wish we talked more about on the Chicago Board? I really have only lurked. It took me forever to get used to TK and TN is kinda different so I can only imagine how long it will take to get used to these boards.
MISC.- tell us about yourself/your hubby/your job/your kids/are you planning on haveing kids soon?? I'm 24 and a bank teller but I'm looking for a job in HR. Hubby is 29 and is an aircraft maintenance technician. No kiddos for us yet and it will probably be a year or so until we talk about trying.

When were you married/getting married? We got married October 5, 2007. It was hot, record heat that day - 88degrees at the 5pm outdoor ceremony.
What are you most excited about for SUMMER in Chicago?? being outside. cooking dinner on the grill. fireworks.
Do you have any big plans coming up soon?? DH is a triathlete, so I have several triathalons and half marathons to go watch. Which I love doing. We are also discussing ttc.
