I need suggestions for things to do in Charleston. I've never been there but Lauren and I are planning a trip towards the end of May and then after Charleston we'll drive to Savannah. Those of you who have tips on Charleston please send them our way. Thanks.
Re: Charleston, SC
You both will have a BLAST in both places. Ok I think it's the Omni hotel we stayed at in Charleston for MANY years. But it's been a while since I've been to that same place - I'm sure its still wonderful. There was a mall on the first level of it, the market was across the street and all the wonderful art shops were within walking distance. My family and I had a BLAST every year we went there for Christmas.
Savannah - I love River Street Inn, it's on the river and there is so much to that Inn. The people there are great and everything is within walking distance for the most part.
I'll have to think so more about it as I've been to both places MANY times. I LOVE them both!!!! My mom and I did this same trip years ago.
Thanks for any Charleston tips you can give us.
I love Savannah, Lauren has never been there but I have been there a lot. My sister once lived in Savannah. I love River Street, the ghost tours, the little boutique shops, the restaurants...I loved The Pirate's House, Uncle Bubba's, Paula's, Tybee Island...I think I'd like to live in Savannah. I have a good friend who moved there two years ago. She loves it there.
I love Charleston!!! My Dad's extended family lives about 30 min from there in McCllelanville, a little shrimping village. It's such a great place. We too have stayed at the Omni, YEARS ago. Back then, it was super nice. We took a horse and carriage ride around town, and they took us to all "the" places to see. It's been so long. I do remember loving all the pastel colored townhouses called "Rainbow Row."
And Savannah...want to go back! Would love some Paula's right now. MMMMMM...I just gained 5 pounds thinking about that food )
